Not working
We were supposed to start Lauren on a bedtime bottle of formula. This was for a few reasons. One because she has to start taking formula and I have to start weaning. Two because she isn't even close to sleeping through the night and the doctors feel that my breast milk just isn't enough for her because of the amount that she eats in a day, and three because it is part of her diet and with the amount of breast milk she is getting it is to much Lysine. This is the third night and it isn't working. She doesn't take a bottle as it is. We tried it in a bottle and in a sippy cup both of which she won't take. If she gets any in her mouth she coughs, chokes and spits it out. This goes on for at least 2 hours with her screaming till her throat is so sore she is actually hoarse. She then usually falls asleep in Tony's arms for about 20 minutes till she wakes up hungry and it starts all over again. All 3 nights I have had to then just feed her as she is hungry and won't take the bottle or sippy cup and won't eat the formula. We need something to work and we just don't know what. Her screaming like that for hours just does us in. Her waking up multiple times is exhausting me. I need me time. I need to get away from her for more than 3 hours at a time. I would like to be able to go out with Tony but I also need to go on my own as well. I would love to go out with girlfriends and have some time to ourselves. I really want to go to a movie and I can't cause there isn't enough time between feeds. I am back to work in 3 months and I need her completely weaned and sleeping through the night. I know 3 months sounds like a lot but it isn't. I really need this by the end of the month so that I can go out and do some stuff on my own and leave her with my parents before I go back to work. I love her completely but this just isn't working. I am open to suggestions as something has to work!
